We have a scientifically proven
way with spoken words
Interveu’s scientific background
Researchers have done many experiments to study how people’s brains process speech. The going theory had been that speech perception was processed in a linear, hierarchical order in the human auditory cortex (a part of the brain), much like with visual information, which relies on recognizing individual inputs that come together to form a meaningful understanding of the world around us.
However, in 2021, researchers in North America found that the primary and non-primary auditory cortices process information in parallel instead. Even when the primary auditory cortex was removed, people could still understand speech. Stimulating certain areas of the brain could cause people to hear things that aren’t there, but it doesn’t affect their speech perceptions.
Different parts of the brain work together to understand speech, which means that the spoken word holds a lot more potential than previously thought.
Brain science meets data science
The artificial intelligence (AI) that Interveu runs on uses algorithms to interpret voice data. These algorithms help recognise patterns in speech — breaking them down into individual components such as words, phrases, and sentences — that can then determine trends in the data, allowing it to continually learn and improve its recognition processes.
Responsible AI
Unlike potentially controversial large language models (LLMs), Interveu’s technology doesn’t use voice patterns to interpret the content of what’s being said, nor does it use the content for any purpose. In other words, our tool doesn’t measure what you say but rather how you say it. We delete all recordings after we have extracted voice trait scores like speed and pitch.
Here’s more about our commitment to data privacy:
Our AI uses voice data and algorithms to detect delivery, emotions and intent, without needing to know what’s actually being spoken. By combining all of this data, AI can understand and interpret voice data to produce meaningful insights and actions.
Our own research
The Interveu tool and accompanying intro course are the results of several years of academic and industry research on communication analysis and educational technology, along with expert mentoring and financial support to bring it all to life.
